As we are in the full swing of January, one of the busiest times of the year for many with all those exciting New Years resolutions. We have had the opportunity to enjoy some great above seasonal weather! With this nice weather it has been fantastic to have the opportunity to get a head start on the installation of safety railings throughout our little community.
We would like to take this time to introduce you to the 2017/18 Board of Directors and touch base on a few housekeeping items .

Housekeeping Items

Owner’s responsibility

As owners it’s our responsibility to take care of our units, report any areas of concern, and safety issues we may notice around the complex and outside of our individual units. It is imperative to the success of our community for all of us to do our part to keep our complex clean, safe and enjoyable for all. Please take the time to read any notices that you receive from the your Board and FirstService, as this will help to keep you informed on any items that will impact us.
On that note it is important to keep your contact information current by notifying FirstService (through our website 6915meadows.com or email terry.foster@fsresidential.com) of any changes. Communication is always a work in progress, we invite you to utilize The Ranchlands Meadows website and will do our best to keep the content current.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have, we can then prioritize an issue for it to be addressed or clarify any questions. FirstService is here to assist with unit issues that pertain to the corporations responsibility.

Please Remember:

1. To turn off your outside taps for the winter. These can freeze and burst during the colder months and flood your unit, your row and your neighbours home.
2. Visitor’s parking is for Visitors! Not for owners or tenants to use as a secondary parking stall. We are very limited with visitors parking stalls and quite lucky to have them. Let’s ensure we respect each other and let these stalls serve the very purpose that they were intended for. Without visitor parking guests have to park on the street, and we all know how difficult that can be. The board will be working on a solution to assist with this on going dilemma.
3. To accompany your pet request forms with your City of Calgary pet registration certificate. Without this, your request will be denied.
4. To get board approval before putting up any structures i.e. fences, railings etc. or renovations such as venting systems etc.

Contracted Work

*Cedar repairs are ongoing
*Painting, Eaves Troughs and Downspouts have stopped for the season and will resume in the spring (owners will be notified upon a start date)
*The arborist will continue work intermittently when the weather is warmer. Please keep in mind that they are specialists and are here to look after our trees and shrubs; their job is to assess them and determine what needs to be done. Their professional responsibility is to remove trees that are diseased, dying or dead and to manage what can be saved. With their knowledge and expertise they are able to determine what needs to be done in order to keep our trees and shrubs healthy and growing well. They are not cutting trees and shrubs back to disrupt anyone’s privacy, they are simply doing their job. The arborist will eventually be replanting as they move through their 5-year plan within our complex.
*City of Calgary Organics is still a work in progress, we are working with the City of Calgary discussing bin locations around the complex. We will keep you posted on our progress.

As much as we plan, please keep in mind that things can change at the drop of a hat, as your board we need your help to be prepared for these unpredictable events as best as we can.

We could not resist taking a evening stroll around our complex to check out all of the cheerful festive decorations and bright lights . On December 20th, 2017 two of our board members went throughout the complex taking pictures of all your hard work and will be and issuing gift card prizes for First, Second and Third Place. Several things were considered as we took in your efforts like; decorating the front/back of unit, row participation and creative efforts.
Big Congratulations to; First Place: Unit #62, Second Place: Unit# 88 and Third Place: Unit# 6
